New Details Emerge On Ghostbusters III

Ghostbuster lovers rejoice! A third installment of one of the most popular all-time movie series has been announced, with the release date set tentatively for 2012. The original cast is returning, with a new generation to follow in their heels.

There are very little details beyond with, but there are rumors of a return from Rick Moranis, who has been out of the Hollywood scene for years. It is certainly something to hope for, as the fans of the original know it just won’t be the same without our favorite accountant/lawyer/Ghostbuster wannabe.

The main concern with many fans so far is how they will handle the return of the old characters, and in what role they will play. Will they be the main heros, as older versions of the originals? Or will there be a new generation of Ghostbusters to train to eliminate the spooks.

What we do know is that it will be a collaborative effort between Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd, which is a great sign. Those two will likely look at this project as their baby, and will do their best to keep from disappointing the millions of fans who are sure to flock to the theater for the long awaiting return of these proton-pack heros.
